WHO AM I
Hi, I am Dustin and welcome to my blog.
I am 29 years old and live in Luxemburg since ever.
I enjoyed beeing in the nature since we moved to a house in the middle of the forest when I was a child. Spending hours and hours wandering around looking for a new path to walk a new tree to climb or something else you´ve never seen before was part of my daily life after school. The boyscouts taught me the basics about setting up a tent, starting a fire and to leave no trace. I learned very fast that I dont need a lot to be very happy. Even though I still admire the smaller and bigger luxuries in life.
After I started working I was able to travel as often as my vacation days of would allow me to. With the never-ending love to see new places I´ve been to the following countries at least once:
Luxemburg, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Malta, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein, Czech Republic, Poland,
Neatherland, England, Danmark, Norway, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Costa Rica, Venezuela and the USA
And because this is only a small part of what I want to see and with my 25 days of per year I wont get very far, I decided to quit my job an travel for two years.
I´ve made a rough plan about the route I want to take, but I am not in a hurry and I want to listen to other backpacker´s stories where to go and what to do. I just bought my one-way ticket and I’ll see where it’ll lead me.
The official start is the 22 of april 2018 where I will visit 2 friends of mine who travel south america by bicycle since september 2017. Where exactly they will be is not sure yet but it might be around Bocas Del Toro in Panama.
I´ve got my permit for the Pacific Crest Trail to start the 1st of may and I have to stick to that date. This will be the place to be for 5-6 months.
In October/November I coming back to Luxemburg for a week or two to visit friends and family before I head east direction Asia where I will probably start in Hanoi. I planned to buy a Motorbike and drive from Hanoi to Ho-Chi-Minh to sell it there and then move on to different countries without having an exact plan right now.
In march 2019 I wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail and when I´m done with that I´ll go to south america for another 6 months to finish in New Zealand in the beginning of 2020. But thats so far from now that I haven’t spent time to think where I will be an what I want to to.
