Day 26 mile 438 – 454
Even though the day was very wind, the night was more quiet than expected. I got enough sleep and felt good and warm enough to leave my sleeping quilt.
At 7h00 I left the campsite with only 1 more tent behind me. I don’t know how everyone gets up that much earlier than me…
This view must have been even better at sunrise, but I’m apparently too much of a long sleeper to see sunrises 🙂
The whole day was almost only down hill, I moved on fast but you always need some spare time to take pictures and enjoy the landscaped.
This is why I am out here.
This is what makes me feel alive 🙂
Soon I came to the KOA camping where two world crashed into eachother. Truhikers and Car-campers. They are still sleeping in their tents but with a lot of luxury we couldn’t even dream of…
They are loud, noisy and we just don’t belong together.
Nevertheless I sat down to a group of hikers, got some icecream, rested for two hours, got lunch there and then set of again to get to Agua Dulce & Hikerheaven.
This place was the scenery for several movies and films like Star-trek, Bonanza, McGyver, Twilight,…
Magical place, but I didn’t recognized the place…
After arriving in Agua Dulce, I got a small resupply and waited then woth several other hiker for the shuttle to Hikerheaven to arrive.
The Saufley’s run this place for several years and offer showers, laundry and a place to stay for up to 50 hikers per night.
After taking a shower, I got spare clothes and gave mine away to get them washed. Dinner tastes even better if you’re clean and don’t smell bad anymore.
As always I got into my tent just after hikermidnight and fell asleep right away 🙂
