Track-week in Spain
I’m currently waiting at the Frankfurt Airport for my flight to Panama so I finally got some time to rest π
On Saturday evening we (about 20 guys and girls) did start with about 10 cars and trailers at Luxemburgs biggest gas-station to get to Castelloli in Spain.
The night was long and I didnt got a lot of sleep but when we finally arrived after 14h of driving the sound of squeecking tires and screaming engines welcomed us at the race track.
Sadly we were not alloved to enter the track until in the late evening so we played frisbee, grilled and drank beer at a nearby parking space.
The sleeping place was set up fast so we had some time left to get the bikes reading for the next morning.
After the first session I was kind of upset because I didn’t felt good on the bike. The second session was way better, I gained confidence in the bike again and I was on fire to get my bike to its limits.
The weather was perfect, sunny and about 20-25 degrees celsius every day. The week could have been perfect but a terrible accident on the track where a friend lost his life happened on wednesday. This remembered all of us how dangerous our sport is and that every ride could be the last one…
The fact that we knew that he died while beeing happy, doing what he loved the most comforted us somehow. It might sound rough, but the day after, we did ride again. That’s for sure what heΒ wanted us to do and what I would hope my friends and family would to too.
I set myself 3 goals for the week:
Driving more then 1000km
Getting a sub 2’00″00 time
Getting my elbow dow
As you see on the picture, it was close but my leather-suit did not get a scratch on its elbow part…
But I drove 1015km and I got 2 rounds below 1’59 and about 20 rounds below 2’00″00.
Time flew and the week was over way to fast, but I had to get home because the real journey is only starting π
Burnouts are fun to do and because I only used the sides of my tires the was a lot of rubber left to get burned π
Thanks to Mario! @bikelife-pictures for this amazing shot.
It’s time to got to the bording area, I dont want to be called out over the whole airport for beeing late.
Next post will be from Panama!
